Second Opening for Artist David King

IS: Presents New Works By Artist David King

It was great to spend time with everyone who attended the second first Friday opening for artist David King. As we continued into our second month, David unveiled a new collection of his intriguing works. In his series of collages titled Moss, David found inspiration from his travels to New Zealand and the fascinating colors and shapes of these flowerless plants that seemed to grow everywhere. Tribal vibes moved him to create the organic Amphora and Elysium collection of collages.

It's easy to get lost in the imagination that these celestial works bring to mind. Many thanks to our special guest, vocalist Cindy Emch. Cindy's bluesy notes and accompanying bassist were a hit!

We also loved meeting more of our Noe Valley neighbors. With each first Friday we hope to inspire and get to know all of you. Community is very important to us.

On view at IS: Fine Art and Design, David King will be showing through the first week of April. We'd love to see you!

We Are Open:

Tuesday - Saturday 10AM to 6PM       Closed Sunday and Monday

de Gournay San Francisco Showroom Launch Party

IS: Beautiful

Last night ISD had the pleasure of attending the launch party for the incredibly beautiful de Gournay showroom in Pacific Heights. The lovely foliage draped entrance was just the beginning of what it felt like to be swept away into a wonderful enchanted garden. The flowing champagne, oysters on the half shell, and artisan chocolates were very befitting.

Exquisite hand painted and embroidered wallpapers, furnishings and porcelain, each de Gournay creation was a work of art. We're looking forward to the possibilities of mixing the old world with the new. Such incredibly vibrant hues of everything, wow!  We are beyond inspired.

Happy Birthday Garland! An ALC Benefit

IS: Charitable

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of co-hosting the 40th birthday party and ALC Benefit for my dear friend Garland Godfrey. The AIDS/LifeCycle is a yearly, fully supported, 7-day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money and awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

After donating to the ALC for years in support of his friends rides, Garland realized that he could raise more money through his own activism and participation than he could ever donate.  With ride number eight on the horizon...he has raised close to $68,000.

Making art, as long as it is accessible, is a great benefit to the community. It feeds the cultural life of the community and enables individuals to engage and think creatively to benefit their own lives. IS: Fine Art and Design is happy to donate 25% of this weeks profit to the cause.

Thank you to everyone who came to support Garland and celebrate his Birthday. He is such a loving and caring person. We need more Garland in the world!
